Egyptianarabic.com, the software site for the Arabic Vocab Clinic series, will be moved to a subdomain of the kairosit.com website. Pointing your browser to www.egyptianarabic.com will redirect you to egyptianarabic.kairosit.com. This will be coming in the next week or so.

Beta feedback looks good so far

The initial feedback from the beta tests of Arabic Vocab Clinic are coming back in, and so far things look good. The previous problem with setting up new accounts has been fixed and is working well on Windows and Mac. Installers seem to also be working well.

The next step is to get the beta out to a larger group of testers.

New Beta Version

A new beta version is underway that updates the Create New Account section. It keeps the data gathering inside the app, rather than in a webpage that is viewed in an HTML viewer. This is to fix problems some beta testers have had with setting up a new account.

A new Terms and Conditions file has also been added.

The beta version of our long-awaited upgrade to Arabic Vocab Clinic is now being beta-tested, and should be on the market sometime in late March or early April. We had hoped to have it out February 1, but due to the revolution and the complete shutting down of most businesses in Egypt (Kairos included) we are now behind schedule.

The upgraded version of Vocab Clinic features a whole new set of tools such as exporting audio to your ipod or music player, drilling yourself with flashcards, adding pictures to vocabulary, creating your own vocabulary items with your language tutor or teacher, creating quizzes, and more. When you purchase more than one language library (for example, Modern Standard Arabic, Egyptian Arabic, etc.) they all appear in the same browser, allowing you to compare between dialects.

Egyptian Revolution

Kairos has been closed for the past several weeks due to the revolution taking place here in Egypt. We are now operating again. We salute and thank all of the brave Egyptians who risked themselves to bring about a peaceful regime change, and we remember those hundreds who were killed and promise to work for a better Egypt. May God protect and bless Egypt and give us true freedom, democracy, human rights, and freedom from corruption.
